A thousand aplogies for the late, late, ever solate update. So I am here, living the life in Japan. Well, not the life, but the student life. I was placed in the Kuis International dorm and I have to make my meals. Rice and dumplings almost everyday!
So beacuse I haven't updated in such a long time, I'm gonna give the sticth in a couple of breakdowns.

Arrival

My plane was about fourteen hours long....two words, it sucked. Air Canada is a sad airline to fly internationally. Virgin Atlantic, I miss you so!

Orientation

You know the process...you are in Japan now. Here are the policies, you're going to experience culture shock, how to get the train pass and blah blah blah blah blah! Everything during this week just blurrs. Everyhting in the past four weeks is a blurr! I met many of the other students and I must say they are a cool bunch. Finally met Brianna! She's really sugoi(amazing). Please excuse the nihonglish. It will only increase from this point. Ah, basically orientation was the adjustment period, (though I'm still adjusting). I moved into my dorm at the end of the first week. Kubo-san a.k.a Mama-san is my dorm manager and she has two cute little boys. Man, one can scream though!

Second week- There was more orientation about adjusting and taking classes. Classes started this week. History of Tokyo and Pop culture ( I swicthed into the Manga and Aniamation class last week). AH, yes and I also learned how to navigate the train system. I saw the kanji and just freaked out. More on such feelings later.

Third Week-Nihongo classes start!!! I placed into 1.5. How that happened I have no idea, but I'm learning 15 to 20 vocab words a day, taking a quiz everyday causing my brain to be on overload....everyday.

Alright that's the gist of the weeks! But wait...there's so much more!

So I dont live in Tokyo as I thought I would. I live in Chiba, which is about an hour outside of Tokyo. The university that I go to for classes is called Kanda Daigaku (university). Everday I take the train from Yatsu on the Keisei Line to Makuhari and then walk about 20 minutes to school from the eki ( train station ) to school. I'm taking IES area studies classes: History of Tokyo, Contemporary Urban Society and Manga and Animation. Then I have Japanese class every morning and a kanji class every friday. AHHH Kanji!!

Wedensday is my new favorite day since I have no classes therefore it is my exploration day in Tokyo. So far I have been to Harajuku, Shibuya, Akihabara, Shinjuku, Uneo Park, and Narita (not in Tokyo). Of course I spent too much money buying various accesories and clothes...I can't help myself! The fashion here is so out of this world.

On friends
I was afraid about making friends here since no one from my school is coming with me, but it's all daijoubu (okay). I have met some pretty amazing people so far. Brianna, Teka, Jodie, Prisma, Kevin, Duck, Colin, Alex aka Google-sama, Mandy, Mr. Ben Epel, Elle, girls in my drom but i can't rememeber their names at the moment, Risa (my e-pal), Shiho, Yumi..the list goes on! They've all made my adjustment and living here a blessed experience thus far.

Goodness....sorry for the not so great update. I jst wanted to let you all know what is going on so far. This is not the format I'm going for blog so it's not going to be like "this is what I did today." Umm, I guess it will be based on specific experiences and whatever idea that arises from my mind, growing experinces and etc. Anyway, there' the skinny.

I am living and learning in Japan.
